Marketing Forced Matrix Programs
I recently came back to marketing Forced Matrix Programs after a long hiatus due in large part to what I felt were outlandish claims as to what these programs are capable of. They were always worthwhile, it is just important for the people that you sponsor to have realistic expectations about what to expect from them.
They should not expect to retire in 90 days...
They should not expect to have enough spillover to populate a small town...
They should not expect to be cycling hourly by tomorrow noon...
You know what I'm talking about! Unrealistic expectations like these will absolutely kill the joy your downline could be feeling when they experience a realistic level of success.
But more important even than managing expectations, is to have a marketing strategy that will allow you to reach some realistic goals within whatever program you choose. Personally I like 2x2 forced matrix programs with a low initial cost that are either feeders for other higher priced programs, or that I can use that way. I also prefer a program that will allow you to purchase multiple positions. (Which I do NOT do initially)
So what do I mean by having a Marketing Strategy?
Well, most of these programs are being promoted widely on Traffic Exchanges, Safelists, FFA & Email Blasters and just about any other way you can imagine. I am not saying you should not use these methods, but I am saying that it is vital that you have some way to stand out from the crowd. And the way you market needs to prepare your prospects to be the kind of downline you want them to be. This is easier than it sounds...
How many times have you been in a forced matrix program that told you that all you had to do was to recruit two people and you were guaranteed a fabulous income. You not only got your two, but even a few more. A check or two even came to encourage you, but then it just faded out to nothing...
This happens because your prospects were not told up front what they needed to do, and how to go about doing it. Expectations were not clearly defined. It is easy to tell people that they will need to do almost nothing in order to create a residual online income, but it is also easy to predict what kind of downline they will be.
On the other hand, what if your prospects were told up front that they would need to perform specific yet simple tasks in order to succeed? You may pick up slightly fewer people, but they would be people that already knew what their part in the program would be.
Marketing experts frequently speak about the USP, or Unique Sales Proposition. What will you do to stand out from the crowd of people promoting the same program?
Don't know what I mean? Go to any Traffic Exchange that you happen to belong to and start surfing. You will see many of the same Forced Matrix Programs several times in the first hundred pages that you surf. This is because one of the most frequently recommended means of promoting just about any program are Traffic Exchanges. And yes, they do work, but not the way most people use them. (More on this another time)
Right now I am involved in a 2x2 Forced Matrix program that I had seen at least 50 times without having the slightest desire to get involved. I have seen it promoted another 500 times since, and would never have gotten involved if it were not for the USP of the (very well known) Internet Marketer that I enrolled under.
The part of my sponsors USP that originally got my attention was her own reputation, which is huge and richly deserved. Most of us (me included) cannot rely on this and frankly we don't need to. The next part was that in the advertizement that I read, she very briefly and succinctly answered all of the questions that she knew would be important if I wanted to get involved in this Forced Matrix Program:
1. One time fee of $7 to get involved.
2. Automatic re-enrollment in a new 2x2 matrix every time cycled.
3. First cycle pays you into another more lucrative Forced Matrix Program.
4. $20 payout on each successive cycle, plus a $5 bonus whenever a personal referral cycles (after your first referral which your sponsor gets).
This really only left me with one or two questions, and her ad included a telephone number which I immediately called, got my answers and quickly enrolled.
Now I can easily copy her ad's style without plagiarism. But what am I going to do to make myself stand out since I neither have nor want the kind of rep that this unabashed IM guru has? To answer this, I took stock of the resources available to me and came up with a plan that is, in fact a Unique Sales Proposition.
1. I will gladly pay the $7 for anyone that would like to follow me into my Forced Matrix Program.
Am I nuts? No, I just realize that I can easily spend way more than $7 on marketing without getting a single person to sign up. So why not skip that step and just make this a no brainer?! Do a little math on this and you will see why this is so powerful. Play with it for a while and I think you'll agree...
2. In exchange for my paying the $7 enrollment fee I only ask my downline to do the same thing for two other people - But only AFTER they get paid the $20 from the second time they cycle.
Notice that I am making it clear as to what I expect of my downline right up front. No surprises. Think about it. Would you let someone give you a business opportunity if you knew that the only way it would cost you anything was out of profit? Of course you would! And here we are not talking about potential profit, but actual Cash In Hand!
3. Each individual that I sponsor (by paying their $7 enrollment fee) will also get their very own WordPress blog at no cost to them whatsoever.
I have a truly unmetered hosting reseller account, and each of my downline may either buy a domain of their own to put their blog up on, or put it up on a subdomain of a domain of mine. Either way, I will do the install of WordPress along with a number of Themes to choose from and all of the Plugins that I have found useful. This will eventually be available on a limited basis, but initially to all that I sponsor.
4. Monthly Bonuses: Turnkey Websites, Vital IM Software, Video Tutorials, Free Advertizing Resources and much more...
A big part of what I am offering to anyone that I sponsor into this program will be access to the vast array of tools that I have amassed over the past 10 years that I have been making my living online. These have cost me literally thousands of dollars to acquire. Every month more will be made available. This makes my Forced Matrix Program downline almost like a Membership Site that I am paying you to join!
5. More, More and still More...
Always overdeliver. I will be offering my downline access to an ever increasing chest of treasures and opportunities as time goes on. Many people will put together this kind of USP planning on making an additional income off of their downline by selling them marketing videos, splash pages and the like. Not here. I just want my downline to be happy with what they get and to succeed, thus allowing me to succeed...
Now THAT is a Unique Sales Proposition!
